For car drivers, you should be careful when crossing the streets are awash. If not, your car can be damaged and broken down on the road.
So, what should you do when a car hit by flooding? Here are some tips on handling of the car after being hit by flooding, that depends on the quantity of the floods:
Light Floods:
- Check the wheel bearings
- Check the condition of the brake system
- Check the ABS system works
- Check the condition of the tie rod and ball joint
Medium Floods:
- Check the engine oil and transmission, when mixed with water, replace with a new one
- Open the exhaust and air filter, if there is water wash and dry
- Make sure that the machine can spin by rotating pulley with key
- Check the cylinder by opening the spark plug, if there is a way to clean water start engine with spark plug condition is open all
- Check the completeness of electrical machines, such as the starter, alternator, and ECU. If there is water, wash and dry
Heavy Floods:
- Check the components according to the category of mild and moderate flooded, and check the components that are in the cabin.
- Check all ECU, combination meter, tape, relays, and fuses, as well as all the connectors inside the cabin. Make sure all free of water, then wash and dry using a blower or a hair dryer.
- Bring the car to the garage in order to gain further investigation.
