Using Amphibious Panther Car, wet things is not your problem. Because this water car can switch from car to boat only in 15 seconds.

Amphibious vehicles, which can hit speeds of 80 mph-plus up to 45mph on land and in water, is the brainchild of California WaterCar manufacturers.

Founder Dave March set-up of the company back in 1999 with the aim of destroying the world record for the fastest amphibious vehicle. And in 2010 he did it when WaterCar Python model reaches a top speed of 60mph (52 knots) on the water.

Python is never sold to the public due to high production costs, but the new model - The Panther - went on sale in July of 2013 and the company now has a 18-month backlog of orders.

Panther costs $ 155,000 and features chromoly steel chassis and lightweight fiberglass hull, as well as off-road suspension hydraulic wheel retracts under eight seconds. And the car is equipped with a 3.7 liter V6 engine - which means that when it comes to speed, it's more than a match for the best friend a more traditional sea fairing.

The unique properties of amphibians that have made it a must-have status symbol and WaterCar has received an influx of orders from the super-rich, including Silicon Valley billionaire and the crown prince of Dubai - which is reported to have some.

WaterCar spokesman Michael March, 30, said: "We have sold the car to some of the richest and powerful people imaginable." You never know who sent the deposit until we begin to build a car for the people and realize who they are.

"Most of the requests have the appropriate color scheme with a private helicopter, mega yachts, luxury cars, local color, and even just plain and smooth so that no one will even know amphibious car."

Panther is fully customizable - which means that the buyer has control over everything from hull paint colors, interior, dashboard, gauges, steering wheel and seat.

March added: "The best part about the Panther drive better than most boats on the water and can travel more places on land than most cars.

"The design process is not easy. There is no book and there is little or no research on amphibian technology." There are thousands of effort amphibious vehicles but we really have to start from zero.

"I would say the biggest problem we face is getting the car was intended to land the plane on the water like a boat. It was not an easy task.

"It has taken longer than anticipated but it feels amazing. We set out to design and build a vehicle that is outstanding and we have done it. No other vehicle in the world like it."
