Car Review Suzuki Celerio Hatchback - All Celerios is a five-door hatchback, has seating for five and the biggest boot in class at 254 liters. From its launch in February 2015, Suzuki Celerio will be exclusively powered by a 67bhp, three-cylinder gasoline engine 1-liter.

Celerio offer the drivers an interesting experience behind the wheel, but to the city-centric small hatch, comfort and ease of use are of primary importance here.

While it breaks little ground in the small car segment, there are a lot of praise Celerio, especially if capaciousness and sheer value for money is high on your priority list.

Does the fact that it is packed with the gunnels with standard equipment and offer more space that can be used enough to tempt buyers away from the value proposition such as the Kia Picanto, let alone the Citroen C1 and Skoda Citigo?

Functional, space-liberating design

Bodywork perpendicular and high attitude did little in terms bless Celerio with mischievous charm so often encountered in this market sector; there is an essence of 'white goods' on the small Suzuki - it should prove very functional and easy to live with, such as a tool.

All Celerios is a five-door hatchback, has seating for five (most in this class only has seat belts for four) and the biggest boot in class at 254 liters with the rear seats in place.

Although there are seatbelts for five, three people in the back will be pinched, particularly if even one of the positions taken by large, modern child seat. Four-up, there is enough space for the legs and head behind for a six footer, even if the front seat occupants of similar stature, substantiate the claim that the Suzuki Celerio is the most widespread of the small hatchback.

Two trim levels, SZ3 and SZ4, available from launch, both generously equipped for money, with all Celerios equipped with air-con, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, alloy wheels and six airbags.

Although the build quality is a positive attribute, Celerio conspiring to feel a little tinny, not helped by loud and cheap-feeling plastic that is used for the interior. It's strong but not the kind of dashboard you will find yourself stroking for his tactile quality.

Efficient petrol engines

From its launch in February 2015, Suzuki Celerio will be exclusively powered by a 67bhp, three-cylinder gasoline engine 1-liter. Not surprisingly, no fireball, but seeing as Celerio weighs 835kg, it is sufficient to keep pace with traffic, either in town or on the highway.

Those who seek to minimize the cost of motoring will appreciate official claims 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g / km, which means no VED car tax costs at the current level in 2015.

By April 2015 the range will double in size, with automatic version of the manual gearbox (gear change itself so that the auto-only drivers are good) and DualJet engines even more efficient, which will only be available with a regular manual transmission.

Because it is not a conventional automatic, AGS (such as Suzuki refers to the transmission), offers the same efficiency and economic figures as a guide, but they were both defeated by DualJet. Power for this engine remains the same but claimed economical jump to 78.4mpg, with CO2 emissions down to 84g / km.

Overall, there was no other small car range offers impressive fuel efficiency is.

Comfortable

Suzuki makes no pretending that Celerio offer enthusiastic drivers an interesting experience behind the wheel, but to the city-centric small hatch, comfort and ease of use are of primary importance here.

All major controls feel very light and easy to use, although the trade-off is that they offer little feedback. Five-speed manual gearbox, especially slips very easily from one ratio to the next, requiring a light touch to snick back and forth.
